Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alice Kirchheim

Alice Kirchheim is an expert in intralogistics with a focus on the planning and design of intralogistics systems, the automation of manual processes, the use of AI processes in intralogistics, logistics software, human-centered logistics and human-technology interaction.
After studying computer science at the Technical University of Hamburg, she first worked at the Bremen Institute for Production and Logistics (BIBA) at the University of Bremen and later at Reutlingen University. She then worked as a freelance intralogistics consultant and worked for the KION Group before moving to academia in 2019. From 2019 to 2021 she was Professor of Process Management in Production and Logistics at Aalen University and from 2021 to 2024 Professor of Technology of Logistics Systems at Helmut Schmidt University / University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg.
Since April 2024, Alice Kirchheim has been Institute Director at the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML and holder of the Chair of Materials Handling and Warehousing at TU Dortmund University.
