Dr. Timo Lehmann

Dr.-Ing. Timo Lehmann has been participating in the Bosch Group's Junior Management Program since early 2026, the company's internal management trainee program for future leadership positions.

Prior to joining Bosch, he pursued an academic career at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), where he held several research and leadership positions at the Institute for Material Handling and Logistics Systems (IFL). Most recently, he served as Head of the Logistics Operations Management, Algorithm and Design (LOAD) Department, leading research activities, industrial collaborations, and the acquisition and execution of research and industry projects.

He earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Industrial Engineering and Management from KIT before completing his doctorate (Dr.-Ing.) at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in logistics and material flow systems.

His research focuses on the modelling, analysis, and optimization of complex logistics systems. In addition to work on automated warehousing, material handling systems, and throughput analysis, he contributed to international nuclear fusion research projects. This work enabled him to apply logistics research methods to the development of logistics concepts for future fusion facilities, addressing challenges in a scientific and technological environment far beyond conventional industrial applications.

As part of his international academic activities, he conducted research stays at the renowned Rotterdam School of Management and Politecnico di Milano, collaborating with leading researchers in operations management, logistics, and supply chain management and further strengthening his international research network.

Dr. Lehmann has published in leading international journals, including Transportation Science and the International Journal of Production Research, as well as in the field of nuclear fusion research.
