Dr.-Ing. Felix Hackbarth
CEO | TruckTower
Dr.-Ing. Felix Hackbarth is Managing Director of TruckTower GmbH, which is rethinking truck traffic in Europe with a new, holistic logistics concept. The TruckTower offers modular, vertical parking infrastructure for trucks, which allows the number of parking spaces to be multiplied in the same area. In addition, the connection to logistics real estate and the integration of charging infrastructure, driver accomodation, app-supported parking space booking and automated handover of trailers allow a new level of efficiency and sustainability in logistics. The focus is also on intermodal connections to rail and road as well as the requirements for autonomous long-distance transport.
As an automation engineer with a doctorate and almost 20 years of professional experience in research, development and industrial applications, Dr. Hackbarth has a deep technical understanding. After completing his doctorate at the Technical University of Hamburg on autonomous, mobile robot systems, he worked in measurement and control technology, electronics development and industrial automation. With positions in industry (including tech-solute, Abona and Gesellschaft für Automatisierungstechnik) and in technology transfer (HubWerk01), he is now a prominent thought leader at the interface between technology, logistics and digitalization.
He is currently actively involved with TruckTower in the further development and piloting of electronic freight and transport information (eFTI). As part of the European eFTI4All project, he is contributing his expertise to the digital transformation of cross-border supply chains. The aim is to make digital freight data available in real time and integrate it seamlessly into automated logistics concepts - e.g. through paperless trailer handovers or driverless handling processes.
Dr. Hackbarth stands for bridging the gap between real infrastructure and digital innovation - with the aim of making logistics safer, more sustainable and more future-proof through technology.
Let's Talk Stage
The freight transport of the future is digital - ever heard of eFTI?
In July 2027, a digital network will go live across Europe that will enable logistics companies and service providers to provide freight transportation information digitally during inspections by competent authorities. The EU member states are obliged to introduce interoperable systems in the control authorities in order to be able to accept freight transport information digitally. The objectives for this are: more efficiency in freight transport, digital connection of authorities, faster and more targeted checks, up-to-date transport data for companies, fewer language barriers, better monitoring of cabotage journeys, increased safety for emergency services and more efficient operations, e.g. in the event of dangerous goods accidents. Companies must therefore make the data available on suitable platforms. This is why this session, together with companies and the German Freight Forwarding and Logistics Association (DSLV), will focus on the practical opportunities and challenges of digitizing transport data. The Federal Ministry of Transport will also show what support is being provided by the federal government for implementation.
