Ambassador's Talk “New routes - new markets: The Middle Transport Corridor as a growth engine for economic development in South Caucasus and Central Asia”

Disruptions in global supply chains are prompting the search for alternative routes. One such route, the Middle Corridor, links China and Central Asia with Europe via the Caspian Sea, South Caucasus, and Turkey or the Black Sea. Though costlier and slower, it boosts regional connectivity and trade, especially between Central Asia, the South Caucasus, and the EU. The region’s dynamic growth, rich resources, and young population are attracting foreign investment. Trade within the region has risen 37%, and trade with the EU is up 28%. The corridor offers opportunities for German firms in infrastructure, port tech, and energy. The Ambassador's Talk will explore these prospects.
